Mayans: We are not Macri's enemies, but we must align the program

Buenos Aires, March 11 (NA) -- The head of the Unión por la Patria bloc in the Senate, José Mayans, stated that they are not enemies with former President Mauricio Macri, while emphasizing that they should "align the program".

"We are not enemies, but we have to align the program," said Mayans, who, despite noting that they have programmatic differences with the former head of state, did not rule out sitting down to talk with him to build an anti-Javier Milei front. They should agree on certain basic consensus points.

He indicated this in an interview with Infobae, accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), after the photo of the greeting between Macri and the governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof. At the same time, he dismissed any attempt to destabilize the government, emphasizing that the difference lies in "an absolutely different vision of the country."

Mayans said that Argentina has chosen a representative, republican, and federal system, while questioning Milei's treatment of Parliament and the division of powers. He also noted that the Government has the obligation to coordinate actions with the provinces in matters of education, health, security, and justice.
